HVIAC and AD3I Name Meghan King Volleyball Player of the Week

The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) released their respective weekly accolades today, and both organizations named The College of New Rochelle's Meghan King (New City, NY/Clarkstown North HS) their Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

King helped the Blue Angels to a 3-1 week, pacing The College of New Rochelle by averaging 3.13 kills and 3.60 digs per set while registering two double-doubles.  The outside hitter added nine service aces on the week.  In each of the Blue Angels' wins, the New City, NY resident tallied 10 or more kills, including a 17 kill performance vs. Purchase College.  She also recorded 10 or more digs three times, highlighted by a career-high 20 dig effort vs. The King's College.  The three wins enabled CNR to post a five match win streak, the team's longest since the 2011 season.

This is the second consecutive week King has earned HVIAC Player of the Week Honors.  Last season, King earned HVIAC Player of the Week recognition twice and AD3I Player of the Week accolades three time en route to being named All-Conference by both organizations.
