Meghan King Earns 2013 Volleyball All-HVIAC Status

The College of New Rochelle's Meghan King (New City, NY/Clarkstown North HS) was named to the 2013 Women’s Volleyball All-Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (HVIAC) team, it was announced recently by the conference office.  King was recognized for her outstanding play this season while leading the Blue Angels to the HVIAC Tournament Championship and a school-record 22 win season.

King, who was named HVIAC Volleyball Player of the Week on three occasions, adds her second All-HVIAC award to the HVIAC Championship Tournament MVP honors she earned as the Blue Angels captured their third HVIAC Tournament Championship in the last five years.  The outside hitter led the conference in total kills (384) and was third in kills per set (3.25) and total digs (312).  King was second on the team in aces (74) and tallied a team-leading and program-record 14 double-doubles, including in both games of the HVIAC Tournament.  In addition to the double-double school record, she established new school records in kills for a career (681), kills in a season (384), and kills in a match.  King already holds the school record for aces in a match. The communication arts major slammed down 15 or more kills on 10 occasions, highlighted by her school-record 22 kill performance in the team’s win over John Jay College, and dig up 20 or more balls three times.
