New City's Meghan King Named AD3I Student-Athlete of the Month for September

The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) named The College of New Rochelle women’s volleyball outside hitter Meghan King its Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of September, it was announced recently by the conference office.

King has been the leader of a Blue Angels squad that posted a 10-4 record for September which included a stretch of five in a row and six of seven. The AD3I Player of the Week for the week ending September 15th is the catalyst of The College of New Rochelle offense leading the team in kills, kills per set, total attacks, and hitting percentage.

King also led the team in digs during the month of September and was second in service aces. During the month the junior had seven double-doubles including ten matches with double-digit kills and nine with double-digit digs. The outside hitter posted a career-high 20 digs in two matches during the month and had four contests with more than five aces, with a high of nine. King concluded the month listed among the NCAA Division III leaders in aces per set, kills per set and points per set.

The two-time Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week during the month averaged 3.29 kills per set, 2.98 digs per set and 0.76 aces per set in 51 sets played.
