NOW ACCEPTING INTERNS - Drs. Bernstein & Auerbach

With the cost of college climbing, and the median salary of college grads dropping, it’s no wonder so many students are opting out. There are, however, great jobs that don’t require the college price tag.

Average salaries for dental assistants, front desk administrators/office managers, range from 40-70k. Added incentives include flexible schedules, vacation/sick pay, health insurance, retirement plans and bonuses.

New City resident, Adam Yu, started working in our office the summer before his junior year of high school. He worked all year, while in high school; and during his winter and summer breaks, during college. Adam was first trained as an "assistant" to the assistants. He learned sterilization, did PSEs with the hygienists, broke down and set up operatories, set up procedure trays, cleaned the lab, filed and pulled at the front desk and checked on lab cases.

“Working here has been incredibly rewarding. I love dentistry equally for the detailed mechanical work as well as it being a people profession. Dentistry has a major impact on peoples' lives. We can relieve pain and help people smile. Getting to know patients and building relationships are what I really look forward to. I have been so fortunate to work with great people. I don't think I will realize how much Dr. Auerbach has taught me until school starts. I know I have worked with a true master and hopefully some of it will rub off on me once I step into the clinic. The team here has also been so fun to work with. We all get along and it has taught me how to work with a team and how important every member's role is. This job has also been an opportunity for me to help people. I would strongly recommend to any high school or college student even considering pursuing dentistry or a health profession to explore their options through real experience.”

How can you become a dental assistant, a front desk administrator/office manager? EXPERIENCE. But how do you get experience when you don’t have any?
