Radio Golf, is the final installment of Wilson's ten-part series, Pittsbugh Cycle, depicting the African-American experience in Pittsburgh's Historic Hill District. Set in 1997, the play introduces Harmond Wilkes, an upperclass Ivy League educated businessman who inherited his father's real estate agency. The project stalls when it is discovered that one of the houses to be demolished was illegally acquired, and the owner of the home refuses to sell. Roosevelt, who has just been named vice-president of a Pittsburgh Bank, is in a deal with another partner to buy a radio station, and needs the redevelopment project to go through as planned.
When Harmond discovers that he has a personal connection to the house that is to be torn down, he is torn between his emotional link to his past, and his commitment to his future.
