Troop 97 (New City) - “Ad Altare Dei Emblem” recipients

On Sunday, May 4th over 300 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, with their families and scout leader/instructors gathered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC for Emblem Sunday.

Among those scouts in attendance were “Ad Altare Dei Emblem” recipients Nicolas Estrada, Carrington Gregori, Connor Hutt, Anthony Meda, James Oswald, John Pawelczyk and Ethan Vallebuona representing Boy Scout Troop 97, New City

These boys from met weekly for many months over the fall, winter and early spring and were guided by John B. Kelly Jr. from Troop 79.

The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Scouts develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community.  The program is organized in chapters based on the seven Sacraments.  The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual grown.  This was the very first religious emblem program of any faith officially recognized by the Boy Scouts of America.

Congratulations.
