Volunteers trying to help residents of storm- and fire-ravaged Breezy Point, NY.

The volunteers of the New City Fire Department are asking for the community’s support in a Hurricane Sandy relief drive that has been organized to help the ravaged community of Breezy Point, NY

Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 12, to Friday, Nov. 16, 6 to 9 p.m.

Thank you to all the people that have already contacted me via email with the desire to donate. To clear up any confusion, we will NOT be collecting clothing at this time. From the information available to me, clothing is not being accepted at this time in the area where we plan to deliver the donated items. Thank you, and I hope to see many of you this coming week!

The drive is going great! The New City community really knows how to come together. Just wanted to let everyone know that we also need assistance for our four legged family members! Dog food, cat food, pet toys and treats are also needed. Thank you in advance for your help and support
