Attempted Murder Suspect And Girlfriend Arrested In NJ

New Jersey State Police arrested Joel Pointdujour, also known as “The Beast,” on Saturday in connection with the stabbing of two men in Central Nyack.  Pointdujour, 24, has been charged with two felony counts of attempted murder, two felony counts of assault and felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Six law enforcement agencies were involved in the search for the West Haverstraw resident. Police found him and his girlfriend at the Holiday Inn on Route 80 in Saddle Brook, NJ on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Pointdujour is accused of attacking two victims with a hunting knife in Central Nyack on Sunday, Sept. 1, Clarkstown police said. The attack took place in front of El Molino III, a bar.

"The first victim was slashed and stabbed in the stomach, suffering life-threatening injuries," Clarkstown Det. Stephen Cole-Hatchard said. "The second victim was cut in numerous areas, also suffering serious injuries.” 

The New York City Police Department, Division of Homeland Security, United States Marshall Service, New Jersey State Police and Saddle Brook, NJ Police Department assisted the Clarkstown Police Department’s Detective Bureau in the investigation.

Clarkstown police report Pointdujour was taken into custody by the New Jersey State Police as a fugitive from Justice. He is being held in the Bergen County Jail pending extradition to New York.  Kaylyn Martucci, 23, also from West Haverstraw was arrested and charged with two felony counts of hindering prosecution for assisting Pointdujour in evading arrest.  She is also being held at the Bergen County Jail pending extradition to New York.
