Niky Ortiz-Castillo, 27, of the Bronx died at Nyack Hospital Wednesday night after a motorcycle accident on Route 9W south of Brittany Court. His passenger was critically injured after the motorcycle hit the guardrail.
Bronx resident Miguelena Padilla, 16, the passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to Nyack Hospital then transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Her condition is listed as critical.
According to the Clarkstown Police investigation, the 2009 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Route 9W when it crossed over the double yellow line and struck the guardrail. Ortiz-Castillo and Padilla were both ejected from the motorcycle and suffered major injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
