Bronx Man Indicted For Assaulting Police Officer

Rashaun Steward, 27, of the Bronx was indicted on assault and resisting arrest charges in connection an incident involving a police officer investigating a dispute at the Palisades Center on June 24.

District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said,” The defendant resisted when the officer attempted to place him under arrest. The officer suffered a chipped tooth and an injured shoulder in the process.” The defendant was indicted Wednesday by a Rockland County Grand Jury for Assault 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
