Congers Volunteers Invite Community to Help Celebrate New Fire Truck

You're invited to a party in Congers on Saturday with the community's volunteer firefighters.
Members of the Congers Fire Department are opening the doors to the firehouse at 40 North Harrison Avenue to celebrate their new fire truck going into service. The "wetdown" party is set for noon to 2 p.m.
First Assistant Fire Chief Jason DeSalvo said the truck, which arrived in December, is a 2012 Spartan rescue pumper truck, which is taking the place of two fire trucks that were used by the all-volunteer fire department.
The truck carries 1,000 gallons of water and all the gear that firefighters would need for rescue operations, ranging from ladders to a variety types and sizes of cutting tools.
