A Sloatsburg man accused of breaking a Spring Valley police officer’s arm when he was being arrested on drug possession charges has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury.
Darien Burch, 21, of 151 Orange Turnpike, is accused of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
said that on March 24 at Memorial Park Drive in the Village of Spring Valley Burch was being placed under arrest for possession of cocaine. Burch is accused of resisting arrest and hitting a police officer in the face and then hitting and breaking the police officer’s right arm.
Burch fled the area and was arrested three days later by members of the New York State Police. Burch is scheduled to be arraigned in Rockland County Court on Monday.
