Forged Checks, Grand Larceny, Criminal Mischief: Rockland Court Report

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe announced Shivani Johnson, 25, of New City has been sentenced to one year in the Rockland County Jail and ordered to pay $840 in restitution after pleading guilty to depositing forged checks. Johnson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument after she allegedly deposited forged checks into her personal checking account at Provident Bank branches in New City and Nanuet between June 28, 2012 and July 12, 2012.  

Robert Williams, 25, of Spring Valley was sentenced to a state prison term of one and a half years to three years after pleading guilty to Criminal Mischief for destroying a chair in the county jail. Zugibe said the incident occurred in January 2013 while Williams was an inmate at the jail. Williams was accused of picking up the chair, valued at $250, throwing it to the ground and damaging it beyond repair.

Andre Lewis, 32, and Fabian Solomon, 27, of the Bronx were sentenced on October 30. Zugibe said Lewis and Solomon were stopped on Route 202 in Pomona in May and charged with possession of more than 10 pounds of marijuana.  Lewis was sentenced to time served after pleading guilty to Criminal Possession of Marijuana and Solomon was sentenced to two years and one-year post release supervision after also pleading guilty to Criminal Possession of Marijuana.

Jonathan Rios, 26, of the Bronx was sentenced to a state prison term of one and a half to three years after pleading guilty to Grand Larceny. Zugibe said on February 21, Rios allegedly tried to leave Lord and Taylor in West Nyack with $2,884 worth of pocketbooks.
