Former NFL Standout from Rockand Arrested on Felony Robbery Charge

According to Nashville Police, former Tennessee Titans and New York Giants linebacker Keith Bulluck (Clarkstown North Class of 1995) was arrested on a felony robbery charge in Nashville, Tenn. early Sunday.

Police released this statement Sunday saying that the arrest stems from an alleged altercation between Bulluck, 36, and Nashville cab driver Habib, Hashi. Hashi called 911 at 2:50 a.m. Sunday and told officers that Bulluck approached him as he was waiting for a customer who had already paid and asked for a ride. When he said no, Bulluck allegedly reached into the car, grabbed Habib by his shirt and took a $100 bill he had in his hands. Officers noted that Habib's shirt was torn

Habib later identified Bulluck, who police say smelled of alcohol when he was taken into custody. Bulluck is currently free on $10,000 bond.

According to this report by ESPN, Bulluck refused an interview as he left the jail, but later released the following statement characterizing the incident as a misunderstanding:

"I was out with friends last night in Nashville and was taking a cab home. There was a misunderstanding between me and the cab driver about getting my money back for a service not rendered. At 2 a.m., things could easily get lost in translation, but regardless of who was right or wrong, I regret putting myself in that situation."

Bulluck, who made the Pro Bowl in 2003, played 10 seasons with the Titans before playing his final NFL season with the Giants in 2010. He was one of eight members of the 40th Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame class inducted April 28
