Garnerville Resident Charged With DWI

Clarkstown police report 27-year-old also charged with hit and run in West Nyack

Clarkstown Police arrested Michael Delia of Garnerville on Sunday morning and charged him with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. Police received a report of a 1998 Toyota Camry hitting a parked vehicle on West Street in West Nyack and then leaving the scene.  A witness got the license plate number which police traced to Delia, 27 years old.

Police interviewed Delia after the 6:15 a.m. accident and gave him a field sobriety test which he failed.  He was arrested and failed a breathalyzer test at police headquarters.  Delia is scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court on December 17 on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol level greater than .08, both misdemeanors, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, which is a traffic infraction.
