Identity Theft, Fake Credit Cards: Rockland Court Report

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe announced grand jury indictments of Pearl River, Stony Point, Hillburn, West Havertraw and Brooklyn residents on a variety of charges.

Edgardo Cerna, 58, of Stony Point was indicted on two counts of Identity Theft and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Cerna is accused of unlawfully using two of his ailing mother’s credit cards to purchase services, property and obtain cash advances amounting to nearly $10,000 between July 2012 and January 2013. 

Justin Delgardio, 29, of Pearl River was indicted on a charge of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Delgardio alledgedly was seen by the victim entering his car on July 4, 2013. The victim was reportedly able to remove the accused from his car and called police.

Frank Hadley, 41, of Hillburn was indicted on a charge of Grand Larceny in connection with a February 19, 2013 incident. Hadley alledgedly stole $1,500 and a ring from a house where he was hired to do electrical work. 

Saida Martin, 22, of Brooklyn was indicted on one count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. Martin is accused of possessing 24 fraudulent credit cards at the Palisades Center on July 6, 2013.

Franklyn Soto, 20, of West Haverstraw was indicted on two counts of Robbery. Soto is accused along with four others of forcibly stealing the victim’s cell phone and money on July 11, 2013. The unidentified male suffered head, face, back and leg contusions and was treated at a local hospital.
