Juvenile Arrested On Robbery And Strangulation Charges

Clarkstown Police report they arrested a 14-year-old juvenile Wednesday on charges that he robbed a 17-year-old male of cash and threatened him with a box cutter.  Police report the incident occured after 7 p.m. on the north side of the New City Condominiums complex.

Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni said, "The victim, 17, reports that he was walking on the north side of the complex when he was approached by the suspect who demanded cash and displayed a box cutter."  

The suspect then reportedly fled on foot. The victim reportedly knew the suspect and gave police a name and physical description. The suspect was found after a brief search and arrested. He has been charged with Robbery 1st degree, Strangulation 2nd degree, both felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Menacing 2nd degree, both misdemeanors. The suspect was charged as an adult and arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court as a juvenile offender.  He was released without bail in his mother's custody pending a future court date.
