Mall Child Sex Abuse Suspect Arrested

Clarkstown Police arrested David Chardon, 22, of Nanuet today and charged him with sex abuse, public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with three incidents at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack. In two of the incidents he is accused of exposing himself to eight- and nine-year-old girls in November and December and sex abuse of a 10-year-old girl in December.   

Police report Chardon was charged with one misdemeanor count each of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly exposing himself to an nine-year-old girl on November 23rd in the Barnes & Noble bookstore. The same charges were filed against him for an incident on December 21st for allegedly exposing himself to an eight-year-old girl at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Chardon is accused of performing a lewd act near a 10-year-old girl on December 26th at Barnes & Noble. He has been charged with one felony count of first degree sex abuse and one misdemeanor count each of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

Chardon was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. He is due back in court on January 15th.

Police report they are still conducting an active investigation and further information cannot be released.
