Man Exposes Himself, Then Jumps into the Lake

A man masturbating at Congers Lake yesterday jumped into the water when a woman walking by said she would call the police, according to the Nyack Free Press. 

Emergency responders hastened to the scene. However, the man was able to get out of the water by himself, editor Bill Demarest reported. 

The man had threatened to harm himself.

He was taken by police to the hospital, where was treated and released, Clarkstown police said. 

Arrested and charged with public lewdness (misdemeanor), he was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court before Judge Gerber and was released on his own recognizance with a return court date of July 23.
