ME Report Not Finalized In Congers Man's Death

The Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office is finalizing the toxicology report for Peter Ballesty of Congers who died on November 9th.  Clarkstown police report the 31-year-old was found dead in his bedroom in his home on Water’s Edge.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said the report would not be publicly released. Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni reported the detective bureau’s investigation is ongoing. The Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home obituary for Ballesty said he “lost his battle with the disease of addiction.”

Ballesty graduated from Clarkstown North High School in 2000 and received a BA in Creative Writing from SUNY Oswego in 2004. He was a tattoo artist who “will be remembered for the myriad words he produced that will live on past him.”

Ballesty is survived by his parents, Peter J. Ballesty and Dianne W. Ballesty, sister, Taryn Ballesty Harrigan, brother in law, John Harrigan and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in his honor to a college fund for his niece. Please send donations c/o Peter J. Ballesty, PO Box 215, 75A Lake Road, Congers, NY 10920. All donations will be placed in trust for his niece.
