Several doors at Clarkstown South High School in West Nyack have been hit with graffiti that Clarkstown police say looks to be retaliation for vandalism at the Clarksotwn North High School football field.
Rear doors at South were spray painted with "Go Rams" and a variety of other statements and some obscenities in purple and yellow, police said today. No one has been charged in this incident or in a recent incident in which obsenities were spray painted onto the artificial turf of the North football field and its running track in New City.
Clarkstown Schools Superintendent Margaret Keller-Cogan said the vandalism at South has been cleaned up.
The football field vandalism came after a post-homecoming dance trip for North students, which was not sponsored by the school district. On the trip, some North students were reported to be highly intoxicated and became sick.
The incident led to concern about South students who were planning to go on a similar trip, which took place last weekend.
North sports teams are known as Rams, with South teams known as Vikings.
