New City Man Hit with Drug Charges

Police: More than an ounce of cocaine found in car.

A 20-year-old New City resident who was the passenger in a car stopped by police on Route 303 is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail after he was hit with drug possession charges, according to Clarkstown police.

Police said Marcellus Demilla was found with more than an ounce of cocaine and more than four grams of MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine), known as "Molly" on the streets. He was in a car stopped in Valley Cottage at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

- Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court and ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility pending an Oct. 31 hearing.
