Black Bear Spotted In New City
A Black bear was seen roaming the Goebel Road area of northern New City this morning, according to Clarkstown police.
Although police have not been able to spot the bear, there have been several sightings by residents of the area. However, the bear has not yet been reported to be a threat to anyone or to be roaming anyone's back yard.
$522 Worth Of Make Up Taken
Angelina Pimentel, 22, of the Bronx has been charged with petty larceny in connection with the theft of $522 worth of make up from a store at Palisades Center mall in West Nyack, according to Clarkstown police.
Pimentel was arrested at the Sephora store. She was later released pending a Nov. 28 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
Petty Larceny Charged
Erica R. Froeder, 58, of 9 Terry Lane, Stony Point, was arrested Oct. 20 on a bench warrant accusing her of petty larceny, according to Stony Point police.
Froeder was arraigned before Stony Point Town Judge William Franks and was released after paying a fine.
Police: Pair Took Copper, Aluminum From Industrial Building
Two Haverstraw men are accused of looting copper and aluminum from an industrial building, according to Stony Point police.
Andrew Scott, 20, of 85 Blauvelt Ave., West Haverstraw, and Michael T. McNamee, 20, of 39 Eakman Drive, Garnerville, are accused of third-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petty larceny in connection with an incident at Holt Industrial Park.
Police said town officers found Scott and McNamee with copper pipe and aluminum flashing that they had cut away. Police said the men were attempting to remove the material when they were arrested.
Scott and McNamee were arraigned before town Judge Frank Phillips and ordered heldp in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in in New City on $1,000 bail pending a hearing.
