Police: Man Jailed After He's Charged with $29.98 Watch Theft

Spring Valley resident had been banned from Macy's at Palisades Center mall.

A Spring Valley man accused of stealing a $29.98 watch from in West Nyack landed in the county jail on Tuesday because he had previously been banned from the store, according to .

Kenneth Snow, 50, was accused by security staff at Macy's in the mall of taking a watch from a display rack, removing the packaging, then putting it on his wrist and leaving the store without paying for it, police said. Security staff also recognized Snow from a previous confrontation at the store.

Police said Snow signed a store "No Tresspassing Notification Form" that forbids him from entering the store again after an July 17 incident. Because Snow signed that form, police said that in addition to being charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in Tuesday's incident he was also charged with burglary, a felony, and tresspassing.

Snow was arrested and taken to Clarkstown Police Headquarters in New City. He was arraigned by in and ordered held in the in New City pending a town court hearing.
