Police: Man Walking Out with $500 Xbox Pulled Knife on Best Buy Staffer

A store clerk at the Best Buy in the Palisades Mall asked a man walking toward the exit to show the receipt for the Xbox game system he was carrying, police said. 

the man pulled a folding knife from his pocket and said, "not today."

The store clerk let him pass—but followed him out of the mall to a waiting car.

Then the associate called the police.

Clarkstown PD broadcast the description of the car. State police pulled over a car matching it shortly afterward on Route 17  in Monroe. 

Taken back to Clarkstown, the Middletown 21-year-old was charged with Robbery 1st Petit Larceny (misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th (misdemeanor), Menacing 2nd (misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession Stolen Property 5th (misdemeanor). 

He was arraigned and held on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to return to Clarkstown Justice Court May 19.
