UPDATE 9:40 a.m.: Police report the victim was an adult male and the fatal accident occurred about one eighth of a mile west of the train line's intersection with New Clarkstown Road.
Clarkstown police responded to a fatal pedestrian and train accident at approximately 8:10 AM on the NJ Transit line east of the New Clarkstown Road intersection.
Police reported the unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. MTA Police will conduct the investigation.

NJ Transit issued alerts that its Pascack Valley Line trains at 7:59 a.m. and 8:08 a.m. from Spring Valley were cancelled due to a “trespasser fatality.” Passengers were being transported by bus instead.
