Police Seek Suspects in Midnight Armed Robbery in Central Nyack

The Clarkstown Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery in Central Nyack at 12:05 a.m. June 15.

The victim, a 23-year-old Haverstraw resident, told police he was walking on a path between Pine Street and West Broadway when he was approached from behind by a man he didn't know—who brandished a black handgun and demanded money.

The two men began struggling.

Then several other men accompanying the robber jumped on the victim and wrestled him to the ground, stealing his cell phone and $50, police said.

The men ran off in the direction of the Highview Apartments. The suspect with the gun was described as a black male, early 20’s, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The only other suspect that the victim could provide a description of was a black male, early 20’s, 5’08” and 180 lbs, dreadlocks, wearing a black t-shirt.

Police searched the area without success.
