A 20-year-old New Jersey man who doesn't have a valid driver's license was charged with drunken driving after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 9W, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.
James. S. Jimenez of Patterson, NJ, was pulled over by a sheriff's officer at 3:15 a.m. Friday in Haverstraw. Police said that Jimenez appeared intoxicated when he was questioned and he was arrested.
Jimenez was taken to the Sheriff's Headquarters in New City, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, unlicensed driving, a violation, and failing to dim his highbeam headlights, a violation.
Jimenez was later released on $200 bail pending a hearing and Haverstraw Village Court on Oct. 18.
