Rockland's Volunteer Firefighters Show Their Solidarity

Nyack Fire Departments wins "Best Overall" award for third consecutive year at county's annual fire parade.

The Rockland County Volunteer Firemen's Association held its annual parade in Spring Valley Saturday, with firefighters from throughout Rockland gathering to march and show off their firefighting equipment.

The reviewing stand for the parade was located in front of Columbian Fire Engine Co. No. 1 on West Street. The fire department celebrates its 150th anniversary this year and the company that is part of the Spring Valley Fire Department played host for the parade and the county fire convention that took place on Friday.

At the parade, the Nyack Fire Department was awared the trophy for "Best Overall" group in the parade. This is the third consecutive year that Nyack has won the award.
