Clarkstown Police officers were called to Waldberg and South Harrison avenues in Congers at 10:30 p.m. June 13 for a motor vehicle accident.

The victim, a 35-year-old Congers resident, told police a vehicle struck his car on Lake Road and drove away—but he followed it to South Harrison Avenue.

Responding officers stopped and interviewed the driver of that vehicle, Lynn Rawdon, 52 , of Congers.

She was not injured.

The officers said Rawdon appeared to be intoxicated. She was placed under arrest and transported to Clarkstown Police Headquarters. She refused to perform standard field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.

She was charged with DWI previous conviction within 10 years (felony), aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (felony), DWI (misdemeanor), circumvent interlock- operate a motor vehicle without a device (misdemeanor), refusal to take breath test (traffic infraction), leaving the scene of an accident, property damage only (traffic infraction).

She was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court June 14. Bail was set at $10,000 and Rawdon was sent to Rockland County Jail. Her return court date is June 18.

Editor's Note: Lynn Rawdon's age was wrong in the original police report of this incident. The error has been corrected.
