Spring Valley Resident Arrested For DWI and Hit And Run

Clarkstown police report driver fled the scene after a Wednesday night accident on West Clarkstown Road at East Eckerson Road

 

Clarkstown police report the arrest of a Spring Valley resident on charges of DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. The driver and passenger in the car that was rear ended got the license plate of a black Nissan that hit their vehicle adn then fled on Wednesday evening. With the assistance of Ramapo Police, Clarkstown Police found and arrested the suspect, 38-year-old Cessar Garcia, at 148 East Eckerson Road.  

According to police, Garcia took sobriety and breathalyzer tests which he failed. He was charged with misdemeanors for driving with higher than .18 blood alcohol concentration and DWI plus leaving the scene of an accident which is a traffic infraction.  Garcia was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court on October 15.
