Law and Order: Weapon, Drug Indictments

A roundup of recent courtroom happenings in Rockland County.

The following indictments were passed down by a Rockland Grand Jury this past December, with District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe presiding:

William Schrader, 32-years-old and from the Bronx, was indicted for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Menacing in the 2nd Degree (two counts) and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree.

Schrader threatened two people with a knife and kicked out the window of a police vehicle in Pearl River on Dec., Zugibe said.

Luis Rodriguez, 28-year-old and from Queens, was indicted for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree and Bail Jumping in the 2nd Degree.

Rodriguez was caught driving with NYS driver learner’s permit that was suspended 23 times on 15 dates, Zugibe said. Rodriguez also failed to appear at set court dates, Zugibe added.

Veloura Parker, 55-years-old and from Central Nyack, was indicted for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the 1st Degree (three counts).


On or about June 2010 through June 2012, Parker re-certified for housing assistance and falsely reported the household income, Zugibe said. The defendant also falsely reported her household composition and received $12,853 in Section 8 Housing Assistance to which she was not entitled, Zugibe added.

Ivan Fuentes, 45-years-old and from the Bronx, was indicted for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child and Driving While Intoxicated.

On or about July 4, 2012, Fuentes drove his vehicle past a Park Police while driving on the sidewalk at the Rockland Lake State Park. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed the defendant to be in an intoxicated condition and driving with a four-year-old child in the backseat, not wearing a seatbelt, Zugibe said.

Love Williams, 32-year-old and from Troy, was indicted for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.

On or about December 12, 2012 at approximately 3:15 p.m., Williams was stopped for various vehicle and traffic violations, while driving on NYS Thruway in the Town of Ramapo. The officer observed an odor of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle and the defendant. The search revealed a box of glassine envelopes commonly used for packaging heroin and 1.2 ounces of heroin on the defendant, Zugibe said.
