Two Arrested At DWI Checkpoint In West Nyack

The Clarkstown Police Department’s DWI safety checkpoint on Friday night led to the arrest of two women, one from Congers and the other from New Jersey.  The checkpoint was set up at Route 59 and Crosfield Ave in West Nyack.

Police report the arrest of Lynn Rawdon, 51, of Congers on early Saturday morning. Rawdon took sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer test, which she allegedly failed. She was charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration greater than .18 and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors. Rawdon, who was stopped at about 2:20 a.m., is scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court on December 18. 

On Friday at about 11:40 p.m. police report they arrested Roberta Mendez, 53, of Ridgefield, NJ. She allegedly failed sobriety and Breathalyzer tests and was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated. Mendez is due to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court on January 13, 2014.
