Two cars collided head-on along Route 9W in Congers late Sunday night, with drivers from each car taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
The accident involving two SUVs took place just before 11 a.m. on the state highway just south of the Route 304 intersection and just north of where Route 303 begins.
Volunteer firefighters from Congers were called out to assist Clarkstown police, along with volunteers from Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps.
The accident closed Route 9W in both directions for about 30 minutes, then the roadway was open for one lane of traffic.
