Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato hosted a naturalization ceremony at the Fire Training Center in Pomona, where 149 new citizens from 36 countries took the the Oath of Allegiance.
Judge Victor J. Alfieri served as the officiating Supreme Court Justice. The keynote speaker was Rockland County Commissioner of Human Rights Ram Nagubandi. Organ transplant recipients Michael Prendergast and Lauren Shields spoke on behalf of the New York Organ Donor Network.
Michael Mark performed several musical selections, while hundreds observed the ceremony.
