Clarkstown Presented With Award For Land Use Planning

Pace University's Land Use Law Center bestowed Founders Award


Tiffany Zezula, managing director of the Land Use Law Center of Pace University presented the Town of Clarkstown with its Founders Award on Friday.  The presentation in White Plains was in recognition of the comprehensive plan which was started in 2007 and completed in 2009 as a guide to development and land use in Clarkstown. 

Town Supervisor Alex Gromack and Town Board Members Shirley Lasker, Stephanie Hausner, Frank Borelli and George Hoehmann, who serves as chair of the Comprehensive Plan Special Board, attended the awards ceremony. They were joined at the Tenth Annual Land Use Law Center's “Land Use and Sustainable Development Conference: 
Sustainable Development in Tough Economic Times” by Town Planner Joe Simoes and other Clarkstown representatives.

Theis given to municipalities that have worked collaboratively with their community and have reinvented democracy to make change happen in their communities.
