County Plans 9/11 Memorial Ceremony At Haverstraw Bay Park
All residents invited to honor those who lost their lives
The County of Rockland will mark the 11th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 at a memorial ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Haverstraw Bay County Park. All Rockland residents are invited to attend.
“Even though eleven years have gone by, the attacks of September 11th and those who perished will never be forgotten,” said County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef. “We invite all residents to take part in this somber ceremony to honor the lives of those we lost on that horrific day.”
The Haverstraw Bay County Park is open from dawn to dusk and residents
are always welcome to visit the 9/11 Memorial during those times.

From the North via Palisades Interstate Parkway
Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway South to Exit 13
Make a left on Route 202 East
Take 202 - Make a left on Main Street (across from the Post Office)
At first traffic light make a right on Railroad Avenue
Follow Railroad Avenue Across 9W past the Bowline Power Plant
(Name of road changes to Grassy Point Road)
Make a right on Gagan Road, whcih leads straight into the park

From the South via Palisades Interstate Parkway
Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway North to Exit 13
Make a right off the exit
Make a left onto Route 202 East
Follow directions from Route 202 East above

From Route 9W (North or South) Turn onto Railroad Avenue heading toward the Bowline Power Plant and Haverstraw Marina
Follow to Gagan Road
Make a right turn and follow to the park.
Gagan Road is directly opposite the former Haverstraw Town Landfill
