The RocklandBoard of Directors announced it is acceptingnominations for the 32nd Annual Youth Forum and Awards Dinner in 2012.
The awards criteria are based on a demonstrated commitment to volunteer service in the community. Five recipients, including youths, adults and a business, will be selected for the awards.
The Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award is based on volunteer community service and non- college-bound youth are eligible. The award will be presented to two individuals. Nominees must be able to verify two years of consistent service to one or more local organizations or causes. Each of the two recipients will also receive a $1,000 check for his/her dedicated service.
The Father F. Peter Malet Award is presented to an adult volunteer for community service on behalf of Rockland’s children, youth and families.
The Youth Forum Business Award recipient will be a private sector entity that has demonstrated an active role in the promotion of children, youth and families in the county. The county-based business will be one that has supported the efforts of schools, not-for-profits and/or government departments.
The Dennis J. Fleming Award will be presented to one individual for long-term commitment and advocacy efforts on behalf of children and youth.

All awards will be presented at the Annual Youth Forum and Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 10, 2012. The awards are made possible by private contributions from local businesses and individuals throughout Rockland County.
