Discussion of $25 Million in Storm Recovery Funds July 30 in Clarkstown

Residents of Clarkstown are encouraged to attend a public engagement meeting July 30 to learn about the state-sponsored New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program.

The NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program is one of several Storm Recovery Initiatives and was established to provide additional rebuilding and revitalization assistance to Communities severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

To facilitate community redevelopment planning and the resilience of Communities, the State has established the NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program and allocated $25 million for planning in the most affected communities. Later, allocations of funds will be used to support the implementation of projects and activities identified in the plans that the identified communities will produce.
