Environmental Excellence Award Nominees Sought

Award is open to individuals, businesses and organizations.

Clarkstown is seeking nominations for its first-ever Environmental Excellence Award.  Clarkstown Town Supervisor Alex Gromack and the town board have announced the award recipient will be selected based  on contributions to environmental preservation, beautification and improvement in the town. Nominations are due by September 19 and the first-time award will be presented on October 18.

Individuals, businesses and organizations can be nominated for the award. Participation as a volunteer or coordinator with a local environmental program or development of an innovative program that has benefited the town will also be considered. Information should also be provided about the amount of time a nominee has devoted to a program or programs.

"The Town of Clarkstown is a leader in environmental initiatives from purchasing to policy to public education," said Gromack.  "This award will give us the opportunity to recognize those in our community who share our dedication to our environment."
