Fares Back In Place On Rockland Buses

Riders must again pay for service on TOR, TZx and TRIPS buses today.

After several days of free service, regular transit fares are back in effect and being charged today for all riders on TOR, TZx, & TRIPS buses. All transportation systems in Rockland County are operating on normal schedules for Election Day. Most service is running on or close to schedule although some routes will have occasional delays and route modifications due to road closures, cleanup, power restoration, and tree work.

TOR is operating on a normal weekday schedule. Loops #1 and #2 will operate with route detours due to road closures. TZx is running on a normal weekday schedule. In anticipation of increased demand, the county is providing additional TZx bus service between the Palisades Center Mall park & ride lot and Tarrytown Station. TRIPS is operating with normal weekday service.

The county Department of Public Transportation asks residents to conserve fuel and keep roads clear by using public transit instead of driving. Rockland is providing “emergency based” transportation  to the Red Cross Emergency Shelter located at Rockland County Community College. Residents can call 845-364-2020 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for assistance.
