Know a Volunteer Dedicated to Rockland's Environment?

Nominate her or him for the county's annual award.

Which of the county's tireless volunteers will join Bill Baker, Diane Gruskin, Patsy Wooters, Catherine Dodge and Geoffrey Welch?

The Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources
has been giving awards every year since 1998 to a county resident for contributions to the environment.

The department, now accepting nominations for the 17th Annual County Executive’s Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Award, offers these details:

The County Executive's Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Award recognizes environmental volunteers who care for our parks, champion our watershed programs, encourage recycling, and enhance and beautify our environment.

To be eligible to receive the award an individual must be at least 18 years of age and a Rockland County resident. Individuals who have been nominated in the past, but not chosen, are eligible to be re-nominated.

County Executive Ed Day will honor this year’s winner at a tree planting ceremony at Kennedy Dells Park at 11a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

For more information or to obtain a nomination form, please call the Division of Environmental Resources at 845-364-2670 or env@co.rockland.ny.us.

To be considered, nominations must be
received by April 1, 2014.
