League of Conservation Voters Endorses Carlucci

The New York League of Conservation Voters today announced its endorsement of David Carlucci, who is running for re-election to the 38th district State Senate seat. The organization focuses on making environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in the state. 

“(Senator) Carlucci has been a committed and influential figure in the pursuit of environmental progress," wrote Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters. "Senator Carlucci supports the League’s agenda and has upheld environmental ideals throughout his career in public service.” 

According to NYLCV, Carlucci brought "an infusion of youthful and forward thinking to Albany' in his freshman term.  He backed a number of the NYLCV’s priorities, including the Sewage Pollution Right to Know Act and signed on as the Senate sponsor to a bill requiring proper testing of hydrofracking chemicals (S.7169) 

NYLCV noted Carlucci's participation in environmental events such with Keep Rockland Beautiful. It stated senators like Carlucci are needed to secure and advocate for the NYLCV initiatives in the legislature. 

“I am honored to receive the backing of the New York League of Conservation Voters who shares my commitment to protecting our environment,” said Senator Carlucci, in response to the endorsement. “In Albany, I will continue to fight for the principles I believe in so the people of the Hudson Valley will always have the cleanest air and safest water available to them and their families.”

The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) was founded in 1989 as a nonpartisan, policy making and political action organization that works to make environmental protection a top priority with elected officials, decision makers, and voters by evaluating incumbent performance and endorsing and electing environmental leaders to office in New York State.
