More Rockland Buses Added Because Of Fatal Train Accident

Tappan ZEExpress (TZx) buses schedules are being modified starting today because of the Metro-North Hudson Line derailment on Sunday.

The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation issued a Customer Alert as of 2 p.m. that extra TZx buses will serve the Harlem Line in White Plains starting with today’s afternoon/evening commute.

Additional TZx buses will meet White Plains express trains departing Grand Central Terminal at 4:21, 5:27, 5:46, 6:09, 6:52, 6:58, and 7:24 p.m. Passengers will board TZx buses from Lane E at the White Plains TransCenter. TZx buses will wait for the express train arrivals before departing from the TransCenter.

TZx buses normally departing from White Plains at 5:16, 5:39, 6:04, 6:44, 7:14, 8:23 and 9:40 p.m. may have modified departure times to accommodate express trains departing Grand Central Terminal at 4:36, 4:57, 5:19, 6:13, 6:30, 7:52 and 8:52 pm.

The county also announced changes for the Tuesday morning commute, which will remain effective until further notice.

TZx buses that normally operate express to "Tarrytown only" will now travel to both Tarrytown and White Plains. All other TZx buses will operate normal weekday schedules. TZx/Metro-North Tarrytown Unitickets and other Hudson Line commutation tickets are being honored on Harlem line trains from White Plains. NJ Transit is also accepting Hudson Line commutation tickets on both the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Lines.
