Need Immunizations For Travel Abroad?

For those plannning a trip to a foreign country, the Rockland County Department of Health has scheduled an Adult Immunization and Foreign Travel Clinic on July 15. 

The clinic will offer immunizations against Hepatitis A & B, tetanus, shingles, measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, pneumococcal and meningococcal infections, typhoid and yellow fever. 

Appointments are required for the clinic which will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 15 at the Robert L. Yeager Health Center in Building A on the second floor Rotunda area. To make an appointment or ask questions, contact the Health Department at 845-364-2519 or 845-364-2520. The last scheduled appointment will be at 6:15 p.m.

A doctor’s prescription is needed for the typhoid and yellow fever vaccines. The clinic visit costs $60 plus the cost of each vaccine. Only cash and checks will be accepted for payment.

“We are offering the clinic in the evening to better serve our residents by making it easier to get immunizations,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to make our services more accessible, in our effort to protect the health of our residents.”

The department also offers clinics in the same location on Monday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will not be a morning clinic on July 15.
