[PHOTOS] New Citizens Sworn In at Rockland Ceremony

125 new citizens from 33 nations take Oath of Allegiance in New City.

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato today hosted a naturalization ceremony at the Clarkstown High School North in New City to administer the Oath of Allegiance to 125 new citizens from 33 different countries.

Rockland County Legislator Ed Day was the keynote speaker. Hon.
Victor J. Alfieri Jr.  served as the officiating Supreme Court Justice. Lauren
Shields, a 14-year-old heart transplant recipient, spoke on behalf of the New
York Organ Donor Network.

As part of social studies curriculum, several hundred Clarkstown High School North students observed the ceremony. The high school’s Choir and Dance Team  presented several patriotic performances.
