Public Gets New Hempstead Road Update On Wednesday

State and county officials will present a status report on the New Hempstead Road reconstruction project and answer residents' questions at Wednesday forum

Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski (D-New City) and Legislator Ed Day (R-New City) scheduled a community forum on the New Hempstead Road reconstruction project for Wednesday. In addition to getting an update, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns.

“Having just passed the half way point, this is an opportune time to update the community on the plans for the remainder of the project and address any questions or concerns they might have,” said Zebrowski. "It is important that all affected residents be informed from beginning to end and I encourage all residents to attend."

Zebrowski and Day will be joined by Rockland County Highway Department   Superintendent Charles Vezzetti, New Hempstead Road Project Manager Joe Pyzowski and Deputy Superintendent of Capital Projects Andy Connors.

Day noted the forum at Temple Beth Sholom continues the outreach that has been going on throughout the project.

"This is a continuation of an effort of transparency that has been in place from the first day shovels were put into the ground last year," added Day. "Steps taken in conjunction with civic groups and the local business community  ensured that the Town project on Main Street did not intersect with this project, and regular updates became the norm for our community."

The forum will take place Wednesday, November 28 from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at Temple Beth Sholom at 228 New Hempstead Road in New City.
