A full house greeted the new Rockland County sheriff, family court judge and incumbent district attorney as they took their respective oaths of office on Monday afternoon. The county legislative chambers were standing room only for the ceremony.
Sheriff , Family Court Judge and District Attorney were in sworn in front of family, friends, county municipal and law enforcement officials.
Falco, who has been Chief of the Police Division of the since 2009, steps into the position after the retirement of Sheriff James Kralik. After 50 years in law enforcement, 20 of them as sheriff, Kralik retired last month. Falco, a Blauvelt resident, has served with the sheriff’s department for 33 years.
New Judge Eisenpress of Valley Cottage has had a private law practice. Zugibe of West Haverstraw was first elected in 2007. He ran uncontested in November.
Rockland's 17 county legislators will be sworn in Wednesday at 7 p.m., also in the legislative chambers.
