Rockland County will participate in a new statewide media campaign supporting local awareness efforts about dangers of impaired driving. The Stop-DWI public awareness effort is spearheaded by the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation, Inc. through funding from the Governor’s Highway Safety committee.
“This public awareness effort coincides with the STOP-DWI Crackdown effort -- a statewide DWI enforcement effort that targets key holidays throughout the year,” said Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef.
The mulit-media campaign includes two sets of TV ad spots, radio PSA’s, updated pamphlets, graphics and website, www.stopdwi.org. The TV and radio spots are also available in Spanish. All the materials are free to County STOP-DWI Programs. The STOP-DWI campaign features the launch of an updated STOP-DWI NY logo which highlights the program’s community focus and lifesaving accomplishments.
“These public awareness and education materials will certainly go a
long way in helping with our traffic safety efforts and life saving
mission,” said Rockland County STOP-DWI Coordinator Leslie Chernin.
