Sports Team Recognition, Special Permit For Outdoor Recreation

The Clarkstown Town Board begins Tuesday’s meeting with recognition of two local sports teams for winning state championships. The Nanuet Girls 10-11 All Star Softball and New City Generals Boys U8 Baseball teams will be congratulated by town board members on winning their respective New York State Championships.  

A public hearing will continue on a special permit application by the Jewish Community Center Corporation of West Nyack for use of outdoor recreation fields for soccer.

Board members will vote on authorizing funds and issuing serial bonds for several construction projects and purchase of highway equipment.

  • $450,000 for plans and specifications for the West Nyack storm water project
  • $66,000 for drainage improvements on Maple Road
  • $200,000 for purchase of a street sweeper 

The board will also vote on construction of a berm to alleviate flooding in part of the Braemar Condominium Complex. The town’s Department of Environmental Control received four proposals and the low bid of $8,795 was submitted by Danny Clapp Landscaping of West Nyack to build a berm to divert runoff from Virginia Street and Carolina Drive.

The board meets at 8 p.m. in town hall at 10 Maple Avenue in New City.
